I'm new to the forum but wanted to spread the word of a new ministry that a group of friends and i have just initiated.
We've been thinking much about the persecuted church across the world and committed to spending one day a week in prayer and fasting for various cases. (We gather our information mostly from the work of "Open Doors")
We then went on to imagine a network of hundreds, or even thousands of christians uniting in fasting and praying with one voice.
We have brothers and sisters literally being tortured, raped, beaten and killed for their faith. We can help, we can make a difference.

The way I've been thinking of it, if it was my church that was under attack having a group of christians praying and fasting would mean the world to me- we can be that group for them.

I think you're right- and as an added bonus in seven years we'll have saved a whole years worth of food !
Yeah I'd recommend taking a look at the open doors website too- www.opendoorsusa.org. There's a 'breaking news' section on there with just incredible stories every week. We won't meet our brothers and sisters until we reach heaven but if we can help these heroes of the faith even a little thats a pretty exciting thing.
