Following Jesus is directly linked to the idea of proclaiming the Kingdom. I just now noticed this connection.
Luke 9:57-60 As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” He said to another man, “Follow me.” But the man replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and PROCLAIM (PREACH in the KJV) the kingdom of God.”
Jesus is teaching us and testing us, advising us to count the cost... hardly being "seeker sensitive" at this point. For a Christian to be non-missional is an unthinkable thing.

So true!
Does anyone have suggestions for talking about this without triggering a "you are still thinking like Institutional Church" reaction?
My primary calling is to challenge people into the harvest field - kind of a "Barnabas" calling, where the Lord uses me to help others discover their gifts and I am able to help them see how things fit together. Sometimes I help them get started in the direction they feel called in. I also help those who might be called to bless the "sent ones" to catch that vision.
I have a completely different idea of how this should look now that I'm on the house church vision. But I don't have vocabulary for it! Even biblical words like "apostle" and "preach" are uncomfortable for people now because of the change in meaning from the biblical one.
