We build too many differences between the Old and New Covenants. Some people believe that under the OT people kept the law in order to be saved. Yet, scripture says all have sinned and that no one will be justified by the law.
Some people also believe that God's spirit did not dwell in people in the OT as it does in the NT. Well, I haven't known anyone in the NT who was translated to heaven without tasting death as Enoch and Elijah were. They walked so closely with God that He took them. And, didn't Elisha recieve a double portion of the Holy Spirit?
Some ministers are very creative and they teach their audiences things that scripture never intended to teach. Just proves that people that don't read their Bibles will believe anything they are told if it sounds good and gives them a warm fuzzy.
