This is for anyone who is having trouble and not recieving an answer to their prayer quickly enough. I hope this will show you how to have your prayers answered.
Firstly, I would like to say that prayer is very powerful, yet many Christians underestimate the power of prayer; Elijah prayed that it would not rain and it did not do so for three and a half years. Moses prayed that God would show who His true servent was and the Lord performed fearsome miracles before the congregation of Israel. Througout history Christian prayer has influenced the world. Why were these prayers so effective? Your prayers can be just as effective! God is unchanging, and it was the same God in Biblical times who performed those miracles that lives today.
Jesus says that "when you must pray, you must pray with Faith and have *no doubts in your heart*,". One of the important things that causes a prayer to be answered is Faith. That means to those of you who pray and secretly wonder if it will be answered, you shouldn't expect to get it answered at all. The same to those who believe at one moment but are then unsure another. It is Faith and not uncertainity that causes a powerful answer to a prayer. Secondly, the Bible teaches that "the prayer of the righteous will not go unheard by God". Thus, righteousness is important to prayer. A Christian who prays and reads the Bible, but also sins often and thoughtlessly should not expect to have prayers answered often.
So then these are the two things that make prayers more likely to be answered; Faith and Righteousness. However, remember that prayer must be in accordance with God's will and will not always be answered straight away or in the way you would expect.
To those who are having trouble with their prayers: have *no doubts* in your mind, and remain *innocent in God's eyes*, and pray in accordance with *His will*.
Remember these three things when you pray, and know that the prayer of the righteous does *not* go unheard by God: FAITH, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND GOD'S WILL.
