Greetings Folks! I just wanted to encourage those of us out on the road less traveled, to be at peace with God's timing.

Rom. 12:1-2 talks about the will of God, and how, I believe, it will go through "good", "acceptable" then onto "perfect". And that will usually take time. And since God doesn't seem to work on the same schedule we do, His timing may seem to conflict with our schedule of when things should happen.

We may all look at the same small group in our houses week after week and think that we're not growing. But from God's eternal perspective and plan, everything is right on schedule. Remember, Noah's ark wasn't built to go places; it was designed to float (for about 13 months!). And that ark wasn't the end; it was a bridge from the old world to the new. It was temporary. Much like the place we're in today. And when it's time, we shall reap what we've sowed, if we're faithful. Faithfullness by the way, is rarely hearlded with a parade or a finish line.

The Lord Jesus has a plan and purpose for each of us. And where we're at right now maybe the exact place and time we're supposed to be...to serve. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood to show forth His praises, no matter what time it is, no matter where we're at.

Goods words, brother in CO. And timely for me to receive.

In this old hymn, the word 'dial' means sun dial or dial of a clock. Enjoy!

Like a River Glorious ~ by Francis Ridley Havergal (1836 - 1879)

Like a river glorious, is God’s perfect peace,
Over all victorious, in its bright increase
Perfect, yet it floweth, fuller every day,
Perfect, yet it groweth, deeper all the way.

Refrain:
Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest

Hidden in the hollow of His blessed hand,
Never foe can follow, never traitor stand;
Not a surge of worry, not a shade of care,
Not a blast of hurry touch the spirit there.

Refrain:
Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest

Every joy or trial falleth from above,
Traced upon our dial by the sun of love;
We may trust Him fully all for us to do.
They who trust Him wholly find Him wholly true.

Refrain:
Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.

Hi Pat!
I am new here- I just posted a question about church multiplication, but I wanted you to know how much your post has encouraged me! It is really what I most needed to hear- that God has an incredible purpose both for me and the little house church that I am a part of! I can trust Him and His timing- I just need to keep surrendering to him and following him each day, always listening to his promptings.

I am just curious- where is bayfield? We are also in CO.

Well, Jeanne, a big thanks back to you for letting me know you were encouraged!

This timing thing has been an ongoing challenge for me. I'm not the shapest tool in the shed so that means I don't get a lot of things until the 3rd...5th...11th time. The Lord has gently reminded me that He knows where and why we're at where we are. Quite often, all I can see is where I'm at; I don't know the why. If I understood the why, I would probably be thanking Him rather than complaining. Time to press the "Faith" button a couple of times and continue on. How long did Abraham wait? How did Moses feel after 39 years, 11 months on the backside of the desert (what fun!) I may be getting spared from things I don't understand by simpy being in this quiet, unglamorous, out-of-the-way place where it's easy to feel left out or forgotten.

Bayfield is in SW Colorado, 19 miles E. of Durango, and 45 miles W. of Pagosa Springs.

We filmed our short movie there. If you'd like to see some views of the area check out either of these links:

Hi Pat!

Yes!!! Doing house church this past year has taught me a lot about trusting in God and waiting on Him- my husband is a bit of a planner, but it seemed that each time we sat down to plan the Lord was silent and simply urged him to wait, and follow Gods leading. We were both very involved in the IC before this past year, and now as I look back it is so obvious to me how much all I was "doing" tended to feed my selfish ambition and pride. Now our ministry is very unglamorous- it is all about God, and not about us, but the inner rewards have been so great! The spiritual growth- both in myself, and in others who are invlolved in our group has been amazing! I feel deep down that this kind of growth is what God is after, and that it will bring physical growth and multiplication.......eventually. Like you reminded me- Abraham was promised to become a great nation- but in his lifetime only witnessed his own small immediate family. I think it is the pride in me that wants to answer all those who ask "when is your church going to grow?" After all, it is certainly not ours, but Gods- and Gods church will only grow as he chooses to cause it to. Right?

I watched your short film- loved it!!! Anyone else reading this- click onto one of those links- it is a treat! Now I know where Bayfield is! We took a family trip down to that area last summer- not actually to bayfield- more in the alamosa and pagosa springs area. It is beautiful down there!!!

Thanks again for your encouragement!
