Greetings in Christ,

I would like to suggest some resources for those interested in biblically-based evangelism. These methods and teachings are showing to be very successful for reaching the lost with the Gospel especially in modernized (highly educated, technological, $$$$) countries. If you've wondered all of your life the who, how, and why's of reaching out to those you come in contact with every day, these resources are for you. I have certainly been blessed by their examples and how scripturally based their methods are. Most importantly, however, their methods have proven very fruitful amongst me and my small group of college friends who have a heart for the lost and have applied ourselves to sowing the seeds of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the lives of those we can reach.

Here are those resources:

One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven, by Mark Cahill. Great place to start if you are interested in how or why to start reaching out to those around you. In this book you will read about some amazing stories of conversations that the author, a former college basketball star, has had with the lost around him and what he has learned along his journey towards walking in the steps of Jesus. Available at www.MarkCahill.org

The Way of the Master TV show and resources.

www.LivingWaters.com -- Evangelism resources including audio teachings on biblically-based evangelism, a wide assortment of gospel tracts and booklets, and other items and teachings of interest.

Grace, peace, and God's best for you all.

Didymus, I could not agree more with your suggested resources listed here. I stumbled across (led by the Spirit of course!) Way of the Master online Biblical Evangelism course last last year. This past year has been an amazing time of rediscovering God's will concerning how we are to share the gospel. I don't know about you, but when some friends of mine and I tried to introduce the series to our local church, we were met with serious resistance, claims of heresy in some cases, and accused of defying the authority of our pastor and local church by encouraging a teaching that they claim was birthed out of a para-church organization.

Well, we both know the WOTM is Biblical, not man made. And I'd encourage every single believer to give it a try, read some of the online materials, watch the TV show prayerfully. WHat seems to be drastic and a bit over the edge at first will eventually become a fire burning inside you that cannot be quenched. I cannot explain it, but it is simply a work of God.

I've not open air preached as of yet, but I have done one on ones, and handed out numerous gospel tracts during large public events. I love the tracts from Livingwaters. We passed some Narnia tracts out during the movie premiere a couple weeks ago. My 7 year old son loves to hand out million dollar bills to waitresses as his version of a tip, leave them in bathrooms, at the post office, in the drive through bank windows, etc. I couldn't suggest a better resource than those you mentioned. I'd love to hear some of your stories of hitting the streets, maybe in another forum?

Hi Texans,

Good to see the word 'evangelism' today as it has just about fallen out of use in some circles, even among house churchers. All it means is: Have Jesus, will share. One begger telling another where to find bread.

Interesting to note that the famous "Macedonian call" was not about forming denominational structures or even planting churches but about preaching Christ. The rest, where valid, would follow.

Acts 16:9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

And what kind of 'help' was that?

Acts 16:10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for *to preach the gospel unto them.*

So, may we sow the gospel seeds in truth and in love. Without either, failure and frustration are certain.

Every blessing in Jesus to your households, DA

David, could not agree more with you about answering that call to preach the gospel and what that call constitutes. What are your thoughts about the various methods of evangelism currently floating around out there: relationship evangelism, lifestyle evangelism, Socratic evangelism, open-air preaching, tracts, etc. What do you prefer, and what are your thoughts on the various ways - are all Biblical? Are only some? Or is there only one way? Just curious.
