Hi there Fern,
My teenage son, Evan, has a Yahoo groups discussion group called HomeChurchTeens. It's small and not too active to handle. Why don't you check it out?

Fern, I will pass this site info on to the teens who attend the HC I attend. There are two families with teens. One family of two teens and an young adult - believe ages are 18 (girl), 19 (boy), and abt 22 (boy). I know the teens in this family are "online" (we have to time our calls to them to ensure they are off the net!).

Hello out there! I'm a dad with a 14 going-on-20 year old. We've been homechurching for about 7 months now. It's just us two, with mamma in the Army getting deployed to Iraq.
My son Ben mentioned today when we got together for prayer and time in the Word, that he'd prefer attending a "regular" church. However, when we were doing that, he then asked if he had to go. I know we all have ups and downs in walk with God and church can be less than "fun" for teens. So I would love to hear from some homechurch teens about there walk with God - especially those who have come from an IC background with youth groups, etc.
The scriptures are clear in the directive to parents to diligently teach their children the ways of the Lord. I'm endeavoring to do that, though I sense that he's not that interested in God right at this stage in his life. So please young people, encourage a dad and let me hear your testimony in a homechurch environment. What's been meaningful to you, what's encouraged you and how have you kept your interest and devotion to the Lord. Thanks!
I have 2 just-out-of-teens and one just-into-teens, and they love our life and ministry.
My q for you is, "What is the 'next village' for you to reach out to?" The gospel is only as exciting as the growth we are experiencing.
For us, the prayer assault on our neighbors, punctuated with touches (Guess what, Joe dropped by today to borrow a hammer!) the strategizing with another family to reach their neighborhood and dinners with other people with a view to Acts 2:42 Fellowship all add together to get my kids excited about what this Kingdom Advancement is all about!
I can get them to reply, too, perhaps. They are so gung ho about what we are doing as a family, that my older daughter chose to stay at home kingdom-building instead of going off to a top-rated college to advance her career!
From time to time we have a vision session, where we say, "What's next for our family ministry" and it's amazing the contributions the young'ns make.
We also have some really cool slogans and mottos that remind us of where the action is, such as the one below...
Blessings, Laurie Ann
My home a beachhead for the advance of the Kingdom of God... My family a resistance movement against the Kingdom of Darkness!
