All I ever wanted to be was a wife and a mother. My husband divorcd me almost 3 years ago after I was hospitalized. He filed for divorce while I was in the hospital. He took my children away. I can not teach my daughters to be wives and mothers, to be Godly women because I am not there anymore. My husband already has plans to make my daughters go to college and get a degree so they can make their careers in the world. I'm left working at Goodwill, and now I own and manage a successful house cleaning business. But I want to return to home. What should I do? Go be the homemaker in somebody eles's home: the housekeeper? the nanny? Do I keep someone else's house and raise someone else's children? How do I make this part of my life right?

Hi Rhonda!

My heart is going out to you- I will pray for you today! As a wife and a mother I can empathize with your pain right now!!!! What has happened to you, if it were to happen to me, I can't even comprehend how difficult it would be!

What we women feel- that need to mother (to reproduce and nurture) is God given, but one reason it is given I believe is as a physical picture of how God wants us to spiritualy reproduce and nurture. It is like how someone who is never married while on earth can still experience the courtship and someday, the wedding of the Lamb. They can still experience being perfectly loved, perfectly pursued, have the perfect husband and become the doted on bride. In the same way, we can be like Paul, who said he was a spiritual father and spent much time loving and nurturing others. Ask God to give you spiritual children- they will bring you much frustration and occasional heartache, just like physical children- but they will also bring you much fulfillment and joy! And don't give up on your own daughters, even if all you can do is pray for them and communicate with them from afar- they still need you!

This is all much easier to say than to do I know- but with God all things are possible- I will pray for you! Oh- and your news about finding a home church is so great! He lead you to a spiritual family! He can give you spiritual children as well!
