Dear Brother Jonah Ma!
How good it is to hear from you! It is thrilling to hear how God is working to bring His people together to minister one to another in the ordinary surroundings of our homes! Praise the Lord for what He is doing among you! When God is at work there are always challenges to be overcome, but He is faithful and has provided (in Christ) absolutely everything that you need to meet every challenge!Yes, it certainly sounds like you will soon have the privilege of multiplying by dividing into two groups! It's a good thing that everyone lives at home and so each family has a home that is a potential gathering place!
I can understand your concerns for the neighbours as you sing in an apartment! Have you considered meeting in a park while the weather is warm? We have done that a number of times this summer! Some apartment buildings have a common lounge or activity room that can be reserved by residents for special occassions. Does your building have such a room? (Just a suggestion!) It might also be a means of contacting others in your building who just might be interested!
You asked about what to do about offerings iof you divided into two groups. Can I ask what you do with your offerings now? Who decides how the offerings will be spent? In our house church we have never had the problem of deciding what to do with an offering because we have never taken one! We believe that I Cor.16:1,2 has to do with individual believers laying by in store(in their own personal way) and then giving to others in need as God instructs them personally! What a blessing this has been as each believer sees their responsibility to seek God's direction in their giving and also sees God meet the needs of others as He directs them personally! Many have been blessed so much more in this way than they ever were by simply putting their money in a church collection and then expecting others to disburse the funds! Since house churches have no expences for a building, mortgages, utilities, maintenance etc nor any do most have any "staff" who are paid salaries, their resources can be invested totally in eternal investments (getting people into the Word of God and the Word of God into people!)
But even for groups which do have regular offerings, when they multiply into two groups- each group can decide how to use the offerings that are given in each particular gathering.
You also asked about "administration". Are you referring to leadership, elders etc? How are you handling this issue/these issues currently?
I am especially interested in your post because I am a fellow Canadian! Awareness of and interest in house churches is sure growing in Canada and we need to encourage each other as much as possible! Where are you located? There is a loose association of house churches in the Southern Ontario area where we live. If you are nearby, and if you have not made contact with others, I'd sure be glad to put you in touch with other house church groups in our area!
Have you checked out the registry of house churches and folks interested in house churches on this site? If not, please take a moment and do so and be sure to register your own group so that others who are searching may also find you!
I hope this is some help! Please keep us posted as the Lord continues to guide you and make you a blessing in your community!
