Dear FREE brothers and sisters in Christ from around the world:

I would like to greet and bless all of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. All of us in my family (9 members)are part of a home church for about 4 years now. This, after attending two denominational religions where our thirst for the living Christ couldn´t be quenched.

Now we would like to meet new FREE christians with whom to correspond and establish friendship in Christ.

Also our children are attending a home school.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1

We want to hear from you!

Your brother in Christ,

José

Hello Jose!

Welcome to HC Interchange! I could be wrong, but I think you are the first one here from Paraguay!
So you have been enjoying the liberty of house church fellowship for 4 years...Praise the Lord! Many of us here are just relative beginners in comparison!

Would you care to share with us a little more about how you came to be introduced to the idea of house church? Could you tell us of some of the joys and sorrows or some major lessons you've learned along the way? How has your relationship with Christ been affected as a result? That would be a great help to many who are just starting out or still desiring to be part of a house church!

We too homeschooled for 14 years and how many other homeschool families who also are involved in house churches!

BTW, there is a Christian brother who lives not far from us here in Southern Ontario (Canada) who is a very talented musician. He is from Paraguay and plays a Paraguayan harp. He is a dear brother in Christ who loves to tell what Christ means to him and how the Gospel came to his family in the jungles of Paraguay. His name is Eduard Klassen. Have you ever heard of him?

Well, brother, I hope you will "visit with us" here often!

Your brother in Christ,
Bruce Woodford

Hello Bruce!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

In a few lines:

My wife Esther and I were “born catholics.”

We received Christ in the Anglican “Religion.”

We grew-up in the “sound doctrine” in an Indepent Baptist “Religion.” (not church).

I decided to study theology just to know a little more how to answer to the questions that people used to make me as a new convert.

I am a computer programmer and never thought that my life would take this turn.

Suddenly I found myself more interested in the kingdom of God than in my profession.

I left my job completely for almost a year to do personal evangelism in several cities on my own (without ANY a denominational support), but with the help of a brother from the Bible Society that offered personal support in materials.

In the beginning I thought of selling Bibles, but that didn´t work for me. Then I tried selling little booklets about the Gospel (that worked out better, but in the end faded away). Finally I preached the Gospel for free and asked for a voluntary support. That worked even better but lasted only a few months.

In the end everything dried up and I was confused as to what was God´s plan with me.

I said: “Hey, God”. I left everything for you and look where I am!

Since my “church” was so closed, my wife and I decided not to tell them anything that was happening, and we also decided that it would be better if we left the “legal membership” of my church (in order not entangle our “church” with my new ideas about inter-denominationalism) but decided to continue attending services and partake in the Holy Supper at that “church.”

However the assembly decided that if we should leave our “legal membership”, then we could not partake of the Holy Supper anymore.

Thus we were indirectly “kicked-out” of our church.

We utterly cried for this injustice, but anyway continued personal evangelism.

One day I met a couple of christians that opened to me the treasure of the house church.

After some time my family and I decided that it was time to start our home church.
I became the “pastor” (not title, only function), and we also decided to home school our 7 children (without even knowing that there existed such concept).

I then thought about searching in the internet for these two concepts: house church and home school. And found out that I was not crazy -like people considered me! We have had millions of brothers and sisters through history that worshipped God in FULL FREEDOM!!!!!!!

I then realized that I was caught up in the “business of faith” (religion)!

Now, through the Internet we feel that God is going to open W I D E gates for us to meet other like minded people around the world. In the end, the TRUTH ALWAYS WINS!!

And, even today, we still don´t know (and don´t care either) what happend, what is happening, or what will happen to us in this narrow road that we feel He chose for us. However, WE ARE CERTAIN THAT if we only believe in Him it´s just a matter of obedience to HIS WORD and time for the many, many blessings to come!

“For WE KNOW WHOM we have believed, and ARE PERSUADED that HE IS ABLE to keep THAT WHICH WE HAVE COMMITTED UNTO HIM against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:12

God bless this site for the sake of his many true sheep,

José.
