When i was first saved, what a joy and peace I had with God's unconditional love and acceptance. It was only when I started becoming involved in churches that I ran into stumbling blocks and road blocks. Mostly what I found in churches was NOT Jesus Christ, but instead in churches I found legalism, formalism, ritualism, and much more. Perhaps the biggest things that turned me off to the curhces that I was in is that churches are being spoon fed and lead by the sheep instead of the Shepherd. The sheep will run you ragged with legalism and beating you up with the law. With the Shepherd you as a believer are always loved and accepted, and His forever.
After I left my last church in disgust, I spent almost two years trying to find the right church and I finally gave up. But that's what God wanted me to do, because he was leading me to a house church. What a burden that was lifted off my back! The problem wasn't me; it was the traditional church. God was showing me that the church not some institution, or building, a denomination, but instead He was telling me that the church is a body of believers in Christ. And this can be two, three or more. And all that they need to do is to meet in fellowship-which can be just about anywhere, in someone's home ,or in a park, or a school or a restaurant, just to name a few places. I am so glad that I have found a house, or home church, where our purpose is to meet in love and fellowhip in Christ, to be able to reach out to one another, and to reach out to others with the message of the gospel of salvation in Christ.
I am newbie. I am happy for you that you found a home church that you like, Isn't wonderful to fellowhip with people whom you are certain are gathering unto the Lord.I have not yet met believers to fellowship with but I am hope that the Lord is my Shepherd therefore I shall not want He shall lead me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Could you tell me how you met up with your home church.
I also did the rounds of churches and settled somewhere when I was tempted to do another round my eyes were opened to the fact that it was not the IC I was in that was the problem but all around me.
Enjoy your fellowship and do remember to uphold us in prayers I mean those of us who do not yet have fellowship with other believers.
You might check the registry of house churches on this site, or on other house church sites. I'm not sure if I found the house church that I am with thru this site or another-can't remember.
Check the directory or register of house churches on this site,-- also try www.hccentral.com.

Dear Joy, Welcome to the House church interchange! Even though there may be few house churches in Nigeria, be assured that God is working among His people everywhere to make us thirsty to know Him better and to relate to other believers as he wants us to. As you follow His leading, he will surely bring you into contact with others.
One way you can move in that direction is to go to the registry at http://www.housechurch.org/registry and then go to the international section and register yourself and get Nigeria on the list! Thus other folks there who may be looking will be able to contact you!
Keep close to Christ and stop by here often and let us know what the lord is doing where you are!
Your brother in Christ, Bruce Woodford Norwich, Ontario, Canada
