Greetings from WA state. We moved up here about Spring 2000 in search of like minded believers or to start a church. We have found it to be just as religious as Texas (where we are from) and are preparing to move back soon (Lord Willing). WA is just too inflated for us Texas folks and we had to move into a travel trailer just to have a place to live. For a family our size (four children and one on the way) the cost for a 3 bed. apartment would be about 1500. A house would be close to 3,000. This is rich man's world up here and we aren't rich. But I thank God we can be rich in faith.
Our last "church" experience just ended about 2 weeks ago. After moving up here my husband got VERY discouraged and basically Quit leading us. Then we sort of ran into this church we thought would work out. We just wanted to follow our Bibles and hold to the doctrines taught by Christ and the Apostles. We thought these people were serioius. There were some things that bothered us but we decided we would stay IN WASHINGTON just because we thought we found a church, I mean we DID. But they believed that everyone HAD to speak in tongues or they weren't Spirit filled or could even understand scriptures. We thought (hoped) they would overlook our little difference and accept us (because we had experienced other Gifts) but they would not. Also, it became clear that because I and my husband didn't raise our hands during "praise and worship" that we were thought to be unsaved.
Well, now we're moving back to where we can survive better.
Got to go . someone write , Please.
Love in Christ, Rhonda

Hi Rhonda~ My family has just started to search out homechurches after being terribly disappointed with the IC. We live in Texas (just outside of Houston) What part are you moving to?

Hi Tonya,
Sorry it took so long to write back. I haven't been on the board in a long time. We're from the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. We kind-of would like to move in a different place than where we left (Arlington-between DFW) and not be too close to our relatives, yet not too far away either. Mabe Waxahache, El Paso, Abilene, San Antonio area. We would like to get somewhere we can have some room too-where we can purchase some land.
My husband is also planning on transfering with Home Depot, so the area is dependant on which store he gets.
Thanks, Hope to talk to you again. Rhonda

Hi There, I realize it's been a Loooooong time since this post but thought I'd respond anyway because our locations parallel! We moved to TX from WA June 2001. I love both places but the cost of living is much better suited to our family here in Houston. We're just beginning the house church journey and would love to talk about it. Blessings, Stacy
I'm glad you've found a place to share your interest in house church. You may want to join an email discussion list on the site in order to receive more of a response than usually occurs in the Forums. Often new list joiners feel free to "listen in" awhile or "jump right in" and join the discussion. Thanks for posting to this Forum. Good to hear from you!
May the Lord Jesus Bless you and yours,
