You can call me Marie. I am 31 years old and live in NJ with my husband and son. I started out Lutheran, my husband American Baptist. We both left those churches and became 7th Day Adventist. After a couple years, we grew increasingly concerned at the error that seemed to be pervading that church and churches of any denomination. We felt led to express our faith with others, but that church was no longer where we needed to be. We currently are without a church. We do weekly bible studies and worship with my husbands brother and his wife and child. Nothing fancy and sometimes we have nothing specific planned. We have hopes in having others join us. My brother in law is an ordained minister, but we are all equal participants in our study and worship. We want to learn more about this and learn ways of improving our having church within the home.
I am not a typical christian I suppose, but I am open to talking with others about what they believe. I believe everyone needs an individual relationship with Abba. I believe we need to get back to what the bible says concerning marriage. As hard as it can be sometimes, when we follow the word and act in a way that Abba wants us to, then we are honoring him.
I hope to get to know people here. I am very direct and open about my opinions on certain topics, but I don't care to argue or fight with anyone. All christians are my brothers and sisters.
Thank you and many blessings

Hi Marie,
Welcome to the Housechurch Interchange!

Many of us here are on journeys very similar to your own, i.e.
-a longing for personal interaction with other brothers and sisters in Christ,
-a recognition that all true believers are our brothers and sisters and fellow members in the Body of Christ,
-a recognition that there is no scriptural distinction between "clergy" and "laity",
-an enjoyment of worship/fellowship/study/ministry with others in homes,

but above all- a recognition that God has a purpose for the church which he is building that is far bigger than we are! i.e. He is teaching His manifold wisdom to principalities and powers in heavenly places by the church! Ephesians 3:10 In other words, God is using us, His people, as object lessons to teach His wisdom to both angels and demons!

They have had plenty of opportunity to observe insubordination, disobedience and rebellion against God in their own ranks, among the nations of earth and even in professing Christian religious organizations in our day. But God desires to teach them His ways and the practical effects in the lives of people who will subordinate themselves to His Word, obey what He tells them to do and live their lives out of loyalty to Christ! Just as in King Asa's day, the eyes of the Lord still run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on the behalf of those whose hearts are perfect (humble, loyal and obedient)toward Him. See II Chronicles 16:9

As you keep your eyes on Him, He will guide you, lead you and connect you to others who have similar desires to please the Lord.

I hope you'll stop by here often as well as on other e-mail lists, forums and discussions on this web site so you can minister to us and receive ministry from other members of the same Body!

Why not write and share with us some of the things the Lord has taught you and burdened your heart about? You have mentioned that we need to get back to what the Bible says about marriage. How true!!

We certainly need to get back to what the Bible says about many things!!!

We look forward to hearing more from you in the days to come.

Your servant for Jesus sake,
