Good evening, Saints of God! I'm pleased to come out of the shadows of lurking and become a full participant. May the Lord grant I be useful to your souls.

Quick and dirty: I'm 50, leading a new house church in Midwest City, OK, backed up by my wonderful wife, Veloyce. Our kids are adults, but one resides with us, along with his wife. My daughter lives nearby in the same complex with her husband. Until a few months ago, I still held out hope as an ordained Baptist minister I might find a place to serve in the mainstream system. Having found we simply did not belong, my wife and I stopped attending once and for all. We've been close to doing house church for a very long time, so it's not really new to us.

My daughter and her husband join us now on Sunday mornings for worship and teaching. My son and his wife also do so, but with less regularity, since they belong to a local IC. We are about to announce our presence via a small sign on the door soon.

Southern Baptists really don't have a mechanism for resigning and surrendering credentials. I'm not hostile to that background, but surely in sorrow over it. My outlook is a bit more Reformed than most Baptists, but I don't push Westminster and the TULIP. Indeed, I make much of my efforts to reclaim the ancient Hebrew frame of reference on things, to better understand the whole Bible. I'll link my primary blog here just this once: Kiln of the Soul. This is where I post most of my current teachings. That which seems to have lasting value finds its way to a static site elsewhere. Eventually, should discussion here indicate my writing proves useful, I'll link more freely.

I might mention I'm a disabled veteran, taking full advantage of my pension to spend time studying and writing. I've done quite a bit of that in computer technology, and I run Linux myself. A significant element of my ministry for quite some time has been helping folks with computer stuff. Also, I've been a certified teacher in Social Studies.

Am I allowed to stay? :-)
