Hi everyone. I'm new here. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you all what has happened in my life in the last year and a half. I was a member of the Children of God (aka The Family) and left a little over a year and a half ago. My youngest daughter and one other person left with me. After we left, this woman who left with me said, "You know, we're going to have to keep going on our own. I'm not about to go to an organized Church." So, we had three of us, plus a friend who was willing to have a bible study. Over this year and a half we have grown to about 20 people. God has really blessed us. We have denounced the teachings of the Children of God (at least the extr-biblical ones) and now just stick to the bible and the bible only. It's been wonderful to see how God touches the lives of the lonely and those who really are seeking Him! The key (in my opinion) to finding others to fellowship with is FRIENDSHIP. Just ASK others to come to your home for a meal and Bible reading. You will be amazed at how many people will be willing to do this! God Bless!
Wow that's great that you have been able to get a group going and so big in such a short period of time. I am wondering how you deal with such things as personal accountability? Are you sheparding all 20 people? If so does your group include members of the oposite sex?
