I was raised in a cult setting called the two by twos.. I found out it had an

originator that they never told us about .. We had been told that it was from the
beginning.. Someone directed me here because I have been to the denominational

churches and am very dissatisfied with the money and the handling of it in these
last days.. So much emphasise is put on building bigger buildings and fancy
things.. I cannot decide altho the Holy Spirit is telling me that It is not right
but in the cult in which I was raised.. We did meet in home churches . Problem with
that was it was a controlled environment.. Tommorrow , my husband and I are going
to just pray and worship together at home... Pray for us .. Terry and Sara
We need to find a balance between worshipping with others and with the Lord..
We have our worship time with the Lord daily but we also know that scripture
tells us to meet with other chrisitians even more so as we see the time

approaching I am very curious so will just read and look around and see..
I am testing the spirits and this is what the Lord has had me to do since of my
childhood being lied to by people I trusted and then going to other churches for the
last year and a half and being so dissapointed by the wealth of the pastors and
many of the poor going without and being told.. Pay us before you pay your
electric bill... It reminds me of the days when the priest were taking the fat for
themselves and find them to be living in the highest subdivisions here in this
small town and the spirit seems to be present by the clapping and worship singing
but it is ONE man who does all the teaching and I dont always agree in scripture
with him and his teachings.... Have tried several churches so it isnt just one..

I have gone through tough times and I can understand those who have done the same. As I write this I pray for you and all the others who have thought the "church" meant a denomination, a building, realestate. I pray that all those seeking to worship God the father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His Son Jesus will find a time to do this and someone to share the opportunity - where two or more are gathered. It was hard for my wife and I to accept the fact that we can do this. we worshipped Him together this morning and we said very little to each other. It was a precious time of fellowship with the Holy Spirit and with each other. May God bless you and give you confidence in your time with the Lord.

It's so good that you have introduced yourselves and shared your concerns here. We will pray that the Lord will guide you to others in your area or neighborhood with whom you can enjoy fellowship and mutual ministry one to another as Hebrews 10 speaks about. Did you know about the registry section of this site? If you click on the registry on the home page you will find a registry of other house churches or folks who would love to be part of one. Please register there so others who may also be searching in your area may also be able to find or contact you.

I was never part of the "two by two's" but I do know some folks who are. I have visited some of their meetings and felt that of which you have spoken. I felt there was a very rigid control exercised by "the ministry" the designation they give to their clergy or clerical class! True New Covenant ministry makes no such distinction between believers but recognizes from I Peter 4:10,11 that every believer is gifted for ministry and ought to minister to others as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

We are all on a similar journey to yours! We have all come from one religious system or another where we have been troubled by unscriptural control and resulting bondage. Experiencing truly New Covenant ministry one to another as we simply meet in homes has been a tremendous encouragement to many of us.

The Lord will guide you as you purpose to follow the directions which he gives you. Some of the best counsel is found in the 7 words of John 2:5!
