On Sunday, our family of 7 is our ring, most weeks.
So, today, we went to a garden.
Spring has sprung beautifully here (after a year of drought) and spending the day in the well-kept gardens of a mansion was amazing!
Daddy challenged us to seek God's glory. I saw "a mansion with many rooms". Most of all, I saw why God wanted us to just "rest" - decompress - enjoy one another.
The Kingdom just seemed close today as we enjoyed His world together!
What a wonderful time you described. Spending time with family, nature, and the God of nature is a wonderful pasttime and recreation. I wonder how some people deal with all the stresses of city life without doing just what you did by getting away from it for a season. I guess they invite substitute means of relaxing.
What we did in our assembly this Sunday was not as relaxing as your experience because we meet together to learn how to get out of debt. We had a great fellowship and the material was well received and appreciated. I guess we kinda decompressed because it is presented from a Biblical perspective.
We are currently making a budget, addressing problems with our credit, and learning about amortizations. Next we will begin to lay out a plan to remove our debts.

Sounds like you are doing a good work too, jq - stewardship is definitely an area we all need a lot of work in, from what I've seen!
We had such a miracle in our finances a few years ago. The breakthrough seemed to come after I prayed from the proverbs: "Lord, I'm like a gazelle caught - except the snare is one we've made ourselves. Please forgive and set us free." Up until then, when I felt guilty I just tried harder to save money. It wasn't until I recognized it was my sin, and only Jesus could set me free that I finally was delivered - and through a series of very unexpected developments.
May God bless your fellowship likewise! "It is for Freedome that Christ has set us free!"
