I'm posting these thoughts under "sacerdotalism" which relates to persons and objects (mis)used in approaching God. Obviously, some have a real inclination toward the ceremonial and the physical just as Felix just pointed out. He showed us in another thread that the spiritual can be easily overlooked.
And what an itch we have to build things to aid in worship.
Any other sacerdotal stories or passages come to mind?
