Hi to everyone. My name is marie and I'm new. I just wanted to comment on Faith's post- that "We are not meant to be gathered in bundles of HC ers; for then we would be just like the OC. We are salt, scattered in the world to season the world. Many of the true conversions in the Bible were done as a result of one on one interaction" I can relate to this. Was wondering if any of you felt pressure to start a house church in your neck of the woods and how do you feel...what is responce to this? Thanks, Marie

When I read this post, and the H2H newsletter the same morning, I thought I'd post a blurb on this topic.
From Tony and Felicity Dale:
""As George Barna himself clarified to those who were at the network leader's day just prior to the Denver National House Church conference, as many as a third of those clearly identifying with house churches have come to this position within the last three months. This is movement on a huge scale.
But let's not fool ourselves that movement like this is necessarily a net gain for the Kingdom of God. Currently the vast majority of growth within the house church movement is Christians relocating from one type of church to another. Is the Lord behind this? Absolutely! But is this growth in the body of Christ? Not really. And this brings us to a couple of focal issues for this edition of the e-letter.""
I feel we simply must get over "church as a place to go" and embrace the kingdom of God in our home, or the house church movement will be the "last gasp" of self-centered, consumer-oriented Churchianity.
So to respond to Marie, we should all feel pressure to "Do God's Work" in our home, our workplace, among our various associates. If we are still trying to find "like minded believers" to hang with, to our own comfort and to the exclusion of the Lost next door, then we are failing, and God will spew us out .
And I think there is an urgency here -- politically, finacially, agriculturally, medically, morally and spiritually, the West is on the brink of suicide. We are one small disaster away from the "whole house of cards coming down on our heads".
I won't go on and on about these things. Anyone interested in more about what the Evening News is NOT telling you about what's going on in the world is welcome to pm me
Blessings to You, Glory to HIM, Laurie Ann

Yes! I have yet to see where going to church is God's work. But living in Christ as that light or salt for all to see is.
