Why is it that when someone writes a book on a certain topic, he or she becomes the resident guru and everyone falls all over themselves trying to book that person for a conference? For example there are some writers who write about house church but they always seem to be on the road and talking about house church but never seem to be in one... mmmmmmm.

A person writing a book means absolutely nothing to me. There are so many ideas out there right now about home churching that someone could write a book and not even be right. I realize that home church people need help and if someone wants to write a book and then invite them to a conference that is fine with me. But our answers are not in people's books. Our answer is in listening carefully and closely to God, in studying to show ourselves approved, in the school of hard knocks and in time and experience, and most important of all IN THE WORD and not listening to men. Because you are going to hear everything under the sun from people.

People are not our answers. Our answers are in the wise virgins. Do you pray for the wise virgins? Do pray that the wise virgins will get together? Do you pray that the wise virgins will learn from one another? Do you pray for God's elect? How much time do you take to pray for them?

Just some thoughts,

Kim

Many good books have been written about the Only Book that's worthy, and that's well, if the intent is to continue the doctrines and teachings of the One Book. The sad thing is; most of the writers have some "more important" agenda - "how to...". We don't need to know "how to", we need to know "Who to...". If I can't dedicate my heart and soul to Christ jesus, well, no one else has anything to contribute to my loss. And, if I DON'T want to commit my soul to the Lord, I can't possibly suggest to anyone else what they should do!
