After over ten years of "doing house church," we have become a bit weary of controversy, both locally and in our efforts to network with other house churching Christians.
How about getting an EXTREMELY lively thread going about the wonderful works of God among His people, specifically among simple gatherings of believers who see Him calling us back to the kind of church life Jesus Himself initiated 2,000 years ago?
It would be great if I could get the ball rolling myself, but things are a bit slow here, as we recover from the last wave of controversy that has visited us.
Jesus and the apostles were followed by controversy almost everywhere they went - more often than not. Still, it can really drain you and even if God uses you to show another a "better way" as Apollos was by a certain Christian couple, most don't appreciate you for it.
Sometimes we can say the right thing in the wrong way or even at the wrong time, which is also unproductive.
I often think on this mighty word from the Lord via Paul: Do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good.

One of the most wonderful works of God that I can think of (and which is central to new covenant life and ministry in the Body) is the radical truth that the Lord Jesus introduced for the first time in history in John 6:56 (namely that He would actually dwell IN HIS PEOPLE and that His people would actually dwell IN HIM!
All the way through Old Covenant times, God always had his dwelling in BUILDINGS, but now He dwells in BODIES! Then, His dwelling was always in PLACES, but now it is always in PEOPLE!

Hey Bruce, Good to see you, brother. You have been missed but you have been busy, I see.
I'll add your new link to our main links page asap. You and any others may and should add your link to the "Resources" section of the appropriate category of this forum. And give us a brief description of what to expect at the site.
Thanks to all who use the internet for God's glory and for the encouragement of the saints.
Thanks for the response. It was good to hear from you.
The New Covenant is such a powerful reality, I agree. When people refer to the New Testament Church, some times the focus is on the period of the New Testament times.
But when we think of the New Covenant people, the focus should be on the reality that the First Century Christians share with believers of all generations! That reality of Christ in and among us, and our being together IN HIM!
When I get the time, I will try and check out your web site. Sounds encouraging.

I went to Bruce's page to post this and I thought that I should post it here as well, with small editimg to it:
"Dear Father, Please allow Your glory of our unity to shape up the Kingdom Deep Net. With such a tool in Your hands, being handled by Your children, I ask that You do reach the whole spectrum of the world wide web, touching, healing and moving all of the Internet's reach to all the people across the whole earth. May the word that proceededs from Your mouth come to take hold of the Kingdom Deep Net so as to bring us all to assemble by the glory of Your presence in our personal and collective current reality I pray, in the name of the Christ-Jesus Your Son, our Brother, our Savior and our Lord. You can read of the Kingdom Deep Net at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A5965581 Bruce, I'll be posting this at Radically Christians' café place, where I got the link to your address. Thanks for being here, Benoit"

Dan, I will try and make this a positive post. One month from now we will be celebrating 10 years of being involved with what we call, house church. With many of the brothers and sisters my wife and I have walked with through these years we use the phrase “It was the best of times and the worst of times” to describe these past years. Through it all I must say that the Lord has become so much more than I ever could imagine. I have also come to see that the Lord truly loves His people. Our Father is so gentle, kind and patient as we try and sort out “how we should love Him.” What is the right way, what is the wrong way? Who is trying to take over, who is the worker? What is first century style and what is legalism? Should women speak or should they cover their head? How do we deal with sin? Through all these questions, debates and fights the Lord still loves his beautiful squabbling children. In that oh so still small voice I hear Him say love your brothers and love your sisters. I don’t even bother to ask why because during these past 10 years I have seen why. It is because it is who we are. I have come to see that we are born of our Father with His nature and light. Although we live in a dark world it is through my brothers and sisters light that I have seen my Father and come to realize that like them, with all there quirks, I also have light in me even with my quirks. It is in this light that I have seen hope, felt accepted, and even loved. Because I have been loved, quirks and all, I have found within myself that same ability to love others, quirks and all. You see, in the intimacy of the home we get to know each other as we truly are. We see each other’s quirks and struggles but we also see each other’s humility and love. This is really what the home and intimacy is all about; a safe place where we can come naked before our Lord and each other and not be ashamed. This is home.
