In so many churches the servants have become the masters. I read in Acts that a deacon is basically a waiter. Someone who is in charge of distributing food and comfort to widows and orphans. Yet there are churches being run by "elders", or board ruled by deacons, or controlled by trustees.
Jesus said he did not want us to lord over each other, but to serve each other. Only our corrupt flesh wants the power and control of lordship. The titles of elder, deacon, or trustee are worthy to aspire to, but only if you see them as servant positions.
We are a body of servants. Which one of us is worthy enough to claim the lordship that only belongs to our master, Jesus Christ?
I can't wait to walk the streets of gold with you,
