Schools, particularly colleges, make their boast of small classrooms. Low student to teacher ratio, they say. Churches, on the other hand, often boast of how large they are as in high student to teacher ratio. It is true that most mega-churches hire a staff of "assistant pastors."
Anyone thought about this?
A plurality of elders makes good sense to me. Surely, there is more accountability and a greater pool of knowledge to draw from. Home churches can easily and profitably implement the idea of low learner to teacher ratio.
Furthermore, a team of leaders will hold each other in check and in prayer when one goes astray.
