In the discussions of things Christian, definitions are often cut and pasted from Greek lexicons as if this was the highest form of appeal. Are these definitions really adequate to prove or disprove a certain point of dispute?

The lexical definitions certainly are inadequate, especially since some of them are in error.

However, looking up every instance of a Greek word in the Greek testament, and thereby understanding its usage can be of immense help in understanding the intent of the author.

Hi Paidion!

I believe you have "hit the m\nail on the head"! Let scripture be it's own dictionary by checking out how the original words were used in the inspired record by the Holy Spirit!

Only then can one know what He intended by His use of a particular word.

A brother in Christ,
Bruce
