Seems to me that every young man (just as every young woman) would long to be used beyond their own family among the company of other saints, somehow... somewhere. It may be a friendly neighbor, a caring uncle, a coach, a scoutmaster, a teacher, etc. Seems that every young man would look forward to being a future overseer in the church and prepare himself to be such.
The order of this process is show yourself faithful at home - then move beyond that sphere while not neglecting it. There's nothing technical about it - special gifts and training are fine but are not requisite. The requirements are also almost all required of the saints in general.
I am involved in the weekend package delivery at UPS. Several weeks ago we had to add extra drivers to handle the mother's day surge. But last weekend, I noticed there was no surge or even an increase for the father's day weekend. It suggested to me that mothers are making more of an impact than fathers in today's world.
Let us resolve that, by His grace, we fathers will be faithful in every area of life and service.
