I would like to start a discussion on a question I have been wondering about the past few days. Where did the "birthday" celebration come from? And should Christians be celebrating birthdays? Is it a worship of the creature instead of the creator? I did a word search on an online Bible and found that the word "Birthday" appears only 3 times in the entire Bible. And each time it was a birthday celebration for a pagan. Should I take this to mean that Christians should not celebrate birthdays, or at least celebrating them as we now know it to be???

Please write with your ideas on this.

Thank you, and God Bless you.

In my opinion, Birthdays are nothing more than celbrating the passing of time and maturing of a person. I can see no harm in celebrating life and I don't see how it detracts from our faith. It's not worshiping the person, just acknowledging their continued presence with us on Earth.
