Just to warn the readers of this site- most of the prophecy posts here have been written by Seventh Day Adventists with their own prophecy agenda. These interpretations are not accepted by Christians and should be read with this in mind. They rarely identify themselves because they know their unique views will be rejected, so please be careful! One of their beliefs that the Mark of the Beast is a future Sunday worship law and that Daniel's 70th week has already been fulfilled in Jesus' time is particularly dangerous. Please read more about them at www.apologeticsindex.org/s18.html
and http://www.sdaoutreach.org/FAQsonSDA.cfm

Hello Orates,

If you consider numbers to be more significant than Bible truth then you must bow to the Muslim, Hindus, Catholics, and Buddhists. They number their converts in the billions. Sorry to shake the security you feel in numbers but I think you need it to wake you up.

"Strait is the path and few will find it."

This does not in any way suggest that the majority of people are ever right. So this should never be considered criterion in deciding truth.

Interesting facts from Barna Group website.

Percentage of U.S. adult population which attend each denomination (2001)

* 22% Catholic
* 17% Baptist
* 6% Methodist
* 5% Lutheran
* 4% Adventist
* 4% Christian
* 4% non-denominational or independent
* 3% Presbyterian
* 3% Assembly of God
* 3% Episcopal
* 2% Pentecostal/Foursquare
* 1% Protestant
* 1% Church of Christ
* 1% Evangelical (Free or Covenant)
* 1% African Methodist Episcopal
* 1% Church of God
* 1% Reformed
* 15% do not identify themselves as Christians

Orates,
While I disagree with Jeff and 7th day adventists in certain areas, not all of their interpretations of the Bible are wrong. The same goes with the so-called mainstream denominations. In fact, I found them more willing to share their understanding of the Bible, although not necessarily correct, than most - that's including you.
Do you know 7th day adventists are all for tithing, just like many other mainstream churches?
Do you realize several mainline churches are for same sex marriage and divorce?
Do you realize many mainline churches are for ecumenical movement and kissing the great whore?
How much more wrong is worship on Sabbaths compared with Sundays?
Instead of judging by appearance, I invite you to point out what was wrong on Jeff's posts, based on your understanding of the Bible and not on traditions, which I have already asked you once in another thread. I believe that's how we learn to grow.

Orates,

Jeff has never hid the fact that he is SDA. I agree with him on several things and disagree on several others. If you don't wish to disagree with him or anyothers on the board by giving scriptural proofs for your side, what are you doing here?

Most here do not adhere to any denomination especially mainline ones. Most of us are those that have come out of the denominations, with only a few who hold denominational ties. By discussing things we disagree on, we can learn many things, sometimes new and sometimes just make our beliefs more firm by finding more scripture to back up our view.

BTW, there are several other views other than SDA that agree that the 70 weeks prophesy was fulfilled during Christ time such as Amil, partial preterist, preterist and I think some post mil.

I regularly notice that on many days more than half the posts on this board are prophecy related (or law related), which certainly have their place in a Christian worldview, I do admit.

However, I can assure you that most visitors to these boards do NOT want to be overwhelmed with prophetic topics, much less denominational distinctives of any kind.

Much of the stuff has already been posted before... sigh.

I believe that the warning above is justified and should be well considered. So, please show some connection between your prophetic views and church life/home life outside traditional churches.

And please don't overpost as others will take it as the cue that its OK and do the same. Server space isn't unlimited.

In short, try to create/leave some real, permanent, Christ-honoring content for those that will come to housechurch.org. There are dozens of prophecy boards out there, by the way.

Godspeed and may God bless ALL readers and writers!
