quote:But Christ as a son over his own house; *whose house are we* if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Hebrews 3:6
This perfectly accords with the apostolic preaching:
quote:Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
We are his house. What a heavy, heavy idea. He lives, he dwells in us! Glory.
As I mentioned on another thread to Dan and Brenda Beattie today, the idea that God now dwells in His people and that we actually dwell in Him is (IMO) a central and crucial distinction between Old and New Covenant relationships and ministry!

...the gift of eternal life in each one of our heart and spirit, sealed by the Holy Spirit, showing us the way of the cross that we may transport the magnificent glory of the Father by the power of resurrection into our soul and body, where we are given to be one with God the Father and our Savior-Lord-brother from eternity to eternity; one with God and with one another, just as the Son is the Father...
Dear God, please allow for the simplicity of our devotion to Christ to be completed by the glory of Your oneness and keep us with Peter, where "the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you(we) have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you(us). To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."
