House Church Talk - intro

Greetings Kathy and Curt!

We're practically local using Hoosier geography!. We are up in NW Indiana,
Valparaiso to be exact. It doesn't mean that we are rich (other than in
Christ), just that this is where the Lord has put us and propered us. I had
to look for Paragon. Rural is the right word, but it must be lovely there.

You mentioned in your post that you are "Conservative Christians" I hope you
will forgive my curiousity, but I'm not sure what that means anymore, what
with the tendency that the church as a whole has for not holding on to what
it already has. Would you mind if I asked what that means to you? I don't
mean for a moment that you need to defend your point of view. It's just that
I meither want to offend with what I call humor, nor with the way I express
the dependency upon Jesus and the Scriptures that has lead me to pursue the
house church priorities.

For myself and my family, the Bible is our only rule for faith and life, we
believe that the five solas of the Reformation are Biblical, we understand
and believe the doctrines of grace to be the same, and we really blow it
every now and then, but God is gracious and merciful. At this point, after
twenty years of marriage, we are so tired of all the fluff and man-made,
pseudo-christian cellulite that has been built up around the church, that we
are earnestly seeking His will about beginning a house gathering here. We
want to be the church that God has called us to be and are weary of man
saying that it cannot be and is not possible for whatever reason happens to
be popular this week.

I am hoping that we hear more from you in hte future. If I can be of any
help to your efforts, please let us know. you are not doing this by
yourselves!
Earnestly contending,

Gary

"Preach not only so that the people can understand, but so that they cannot
misunderstand if they wish." CH.Spurgeon

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the
full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the
schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this
darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist
in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm." Ephesians
6:10-13

Subject: House Church Talk - intro

Hello,

I am posting to introduce myself and to see if this group has any activity.
*smile*

I am Kathy, married to Curt, living in rural central Indiana. We are very
conservative Christians who have been studying and listening to God the past
year regarding having church at home as opposed to "in a church building".

We have had "church at home" a couple of times the past month (every other
week) and last Sunday was extra special with 9 in attendance and one of the
best days of my life. *smile* We'll meet again in two weeks in another
home.

Hope that others will introduce themselves to me.

In HIS love,
Kathy
Paragon, IN
I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
