HI Dan,
Good to be buzzing with you again, mighty warrior.
I wish that this unhappy couple - as a team of priests to whom God has
promised wisdom - were interested in bringing the very things to the
meeting which they appear to be searching for elsewhere. <Collective
sigh.>
True, lotsa folks have a constant itch for something new and different
and I can add little or nothing to the replies already given to your
practical question...
Sometimes, I suspect that complaints about the lack of "teaching and
worship" are just masks for other problems such as an unwillingness to
love or an unspoken desire to re-enter the world of spectator or cerebral
Christianity.
Just remember that Christians should be welcome in ANY place and that
"church membership" has been greatly exaggerated to the point that even
many house churches are still operating in the "parish" system. In other
words, those who come once or for a season were never our members anyway
but members of the one true church which meets in innumerable localities.
Above all, I know you'll leave the light on and the door open for these
'departees.' I am confident that you, Brenda, and the gang have had
nothing but good-will towards all those whom Providence has sent to your
corner of the Columbus area. So, your/their labor is/was never in vain.
Btw, Carolynn, a former Dayton-ite, still asks now and then: Oh why, Oh
why Oh, did I leave Ohio ???? :-)
And, Dan, I think I heard that it was over the skies of Ohio where the
9/11 hijackers turned one of the planes around before Todd Beamer sprang
into action. How ironic, in that you Ohioians were the "1st in flight."
We need to talk. :)
love you,
David Anderson
