Good thoughts, Glenn and Dan...

As you say: <<So, maybe it is true as you say, he was just fitting the
message to the
people he met. >>

What a novel idea.. O;>) Where would you suppose Paul learned that?

Remembering Jesus, when addressing a Pharisee, that sought him out... Jesus
used "titillating ideas/thoughts/words" - that even today we ponder as
"highest truth". <John 3> But Nicodemus must have reasoned, some words
seemed very illogical..

To the woman at the well, she came for "water", He offers water <John 4>..
If she be a chemist, maybe He could have told of 2 parts Hydrogen, 1 part
"Breath of Life".. ha! Truth remains you can NOT live without water...

To the one needing bread, He is the "Bread" of discussion... To the one
in desperate need of healing - He remains the Jehovah Rapha <sp>... ...
point being He met people where they were, using words/pictures that spoke
to their interest/realizing/considering their own immediate needs...

In Athens, Paul sowed seeds of opportunity... In Corinth he is addressing
"brethren"... Jesus/Holy Spirit speaks to family/friends differently than
He speaks w/ strangers, those NOT of the household, but searching for those
who might also join in by us, by death of self... Thus Jesus spoke in
parables/concealed <dark> sayings.. He explains this approach in Mark 4th
chapter...

1 Cor 1:4-9
4 I thank my God always concerning you for the
*grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus*,
5 that you were *enriched in everything by Him* *in all utterance* and *all
knowledge*,
6 even as *the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you*,
7 **so that** you ***come short in no gift***, *eagerly waiting*
.........for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also
confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord
Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship
of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
NKJV

We should be sooooo dysfunctional.... O;>) I think you get my attempted
point ...

Thanks brothers... JimP - kentucky
