We often refer to Matthew 18 with regard to the 2 or 3 gathered. Verse 20. However the context of this is actually a group of persons within a larger group. Their work of confrontation is so difficult and messy that Jesus has to remind us that He is with us wherever 2 or 3 are gathered to undertake this task.

Of course, where 2 or 3 saints are gathered to do God's will in any matter - meeting, praying, singing, ministering - He is right there in our midst. I do not want to take anything away from that crucial fact.

You're right, Alexander. House churches are not at all  immune from these devastating acts which harm others for the rest of their lives. 

Ohhhhhh. Oh my. Even the grace of God does NOT completely remove these hideous memories in this life. In the vast majority of cases.

Over the years, I have seen these acts emerge despite all attempts to keep them hushed and hidden. Sadly, for the sake of "the cause" others sided with the abusive "leaders" rather than the wounded victims.

So, let us obey our Master who advised US to: Watch and pray.
