Thanks, Johnny, for sharing that.
I know where you're coming from, Brother. And I think that it's more
important and more valuable, as we grow older and "wiser" to be able to say
that we STILL trust in Jesus, than to say that we ever trusted Him at the
beginning.
The Preacher of Ecclesiastes wrote:
"then I saw all the work of God, that no one can find out what is happening
under the sun. However much they may toil in seeking, they will not find it
out; even though those who are wise claim to know, they cannot find it out."
(Ecclesiastes 8:17)
and the writer to the Hebrews said, "...but Christ as a Son over His own
house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of
the hope firm to the end." (Hebrews 3:6)
Lots of things sparkle at first glance, but glass is not diamond and not all
yellowish metals are gold. But true diamond endures after the greatest
pressures, being perfected more and more. And when the fires are finally put
out, true gold is not only there, but has been much purified by the intense
heat, all the dross having been separated out of it.
Our simple hearts that stuggle with faith and understanding are precious to
the Father in heaven. And Jesus has placed within us a living faith more
precious than gold and fine gems. By the grace of God we have become His
very own children and He will keep His little ones through every storm that
rages through this life.
As you have learned, God's best is ours, no matter what happens.
