Hi brother Jim and others,
I appreciated your keen remarks. On another but related issue is the fact
that the word for "bishop or overseer" was also a non-technical,
non-religious word.
The word for "supper" (when used in reference to the Lord's supper) as
well as the word for "elder" have also been identified as common.
So, what other "church" words are merely common words which were brought
into the church's vocabulary? Surely, there is a pattern here.
