Hi Bruce,
I appreciated your personal testimony of bringing down the stronghold of
pornography.
I would like to add a testimony of what happened in one hc when we
through the leadership of a brother named David attacked the stronghold
of pornography. Our hc was right off the main drag of our community which
traveled from San Francisco to San Jose a distance of 45 miles. In our
area there were two adult bookstores, one of which was extremely large
and an adult theather. In praying that this stronghold would be broken
David was led to go and pray outside the theather every weekend night.
(David was led to Christ with a friend who had been in x-rated movies) He
was also led to write down the license plates of the people who came to
the theather so that he could pray for them during the week using their
license plate number as a reference point. After doing this faithfully
for six months the theater closed. He then applied the same thing with
the smaller bookstore. Bathing it in prayer, praying that God would
redeem the people who went in, that the destruction to lives of the
people who participated in making the materials would stop, that the
building would be a place of the glory of God. It closed down. End to the
story the large bookstore not only closed down after a year but a church
then bought the property and moved in. This was in 1978 to 1980 in the hc
where I met my bride.
The stronghold of pornography attackes more than just individuals but
attacks communities lowering the moral standards of God and dishonors Him
who has rightful ownership over all the earth.
