Hi David, Cliff and all,
Long time no write...I know. Been lurking and busy with new blessed job!
David, thanks always for sharing your songs and poetry to us all : )
Cliff, thanks always for your encouraging sharing! And this time, sharing your inspirational story about how persistent, Spirit-borne prayer brought down such huge strongholds of pornography in a city! All because of the obedience of one man of God who listened and followed thru!
Right now saints, we have a major stronghold that needs to be broken thru all our prayers in one of our few HCers among us -- that bro (Allen) struggling with shcizophrenia, voices, and I believe is prob possessed with even more than one demon! PRAY for the LORD to break thru this stronghold in him, which revealed itself 2 weeks ago when, in my discipleship time with him and his mom going for half a year now each Thurs, he suddenly erupted again! It was in the middle of my sharing on the matter of prayer, quoting O Hallesby in his famous book called "Prayer": "Helplessness is the real secret and impelling power of prayer." That sentence and particularly the words "real secret", he refused to say and even underlined on my notes! He kept saying with growing fear and violence in his eyes, he DIDN'T want to say this...then he violently closed his bible and said this session is over and asked me to leave! Since that time, he has not met with us on Th, Sun morn or Wed prayer mtg....pray
saints for Him to give me wisdom how to deal with him from here....Though, PTL I hear he and his mom still spend time together in the Word and prayer on their own! So that is wonderful....AND after much prayer, I heard that after this incident, the Holy Spirit has already convicted him the error of his ways towards me....yet Allan is still struggling on returning to fellowship with us.....
PTL, his mom still faithfully meets with us and is really growing in prayer and serious pursuit of the Lord vs. her past life as a nominal Catholic mass goer....her name is Maria.
Allen's absence has reduced our already shrinking fellowship to 3 saints now (Lucy my wife is in Taiwan now...)
Saints, please lift up holy hands with me and let's pray thru this stronghold(s) suffocating Allan's life -- let P.U.S.H.: Pray Until Something (Marvelous) Happens!
PUSHing in the Spirit,
Thomas

Man in Black by Johnny Cash
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber
tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have
on.
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for
his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.
I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and
charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and
me.
Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are
held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.
I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them
cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that
could have been
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.
And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have
died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.
Well, there's things that never will be right I
know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few
things right
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my
back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man in Black.

HI all,
I forward this poem for your reflection on our day of praise and
testimony, house church topics laid aside.
Johnny's wife, June, was a Carter who lived up the road just 25 miles.

Hi Bruce,
I appreciated your personal testimony of bringing down the stronghold of
pornography.
I would like to add a testimony of what happened in one hc when we
through the leadership of a brother named David attacked the stronghold
of pornography. Our hc was right off the main drag of our community which
traveled from San Francisco to San Jose a distance of 45 miles. In our
area there were two adult bookstores, one of which was extremely large
and an adult theather. In praying that this stronghold would be broken
David was led to go and pray outside the theather every weekend night.
(David was led to Christ with a friend who had been in x-rated movies) He
was also led to write down the license plates of the people who came to
the theather so that he could pray for them during the week using their
license plate number as a reference point. After doing this faithfully
for six months the theater closed. He then applied the same thing with
the smaller bookstore. Bathing it in prayer, praying that God would
redeem the people who went in, that the destruction to lives of the
people who participated in making the materials would stop, that the
building would be a place of the glory of God. It closed down. End to the
story the large bookstore not only closed down after a year but a church
then bought the property and moved in. This was in 1978 to 1980 in the hc
where I met my bride.
The stronghold of pornography attackes more than just individuals but
attacks communities lowering the moral standards of God and dishonors Him
who has rightful ownership over all the earth.
