Everyone had a right to speak. To reply, to question, or to say Amen. See 1 Corinthians 14.This Bishop is very subtly seeking to justify a slave-class who will do the dirty work for others. For others who are presumed unable or unwilling to do it for themselves.Yes, the church is called upon to be a relief agency. Individual Christians also will eventually be asked: "What did you do for the least of these?" This will involve time and money. It will also take courageous Christian pastor/teachers who echo the apostle's doctrine and declare: If any man will not work - neither should he eat. Likewise, those not providing for their own families (ands widows) - they have actually left the faith.By the way, I would like to hear a "Christian Nationalist" admit that the Nanny State is largely due to the monumental failure of the Christian church, particularly in its use of money. I hope this admission comes soon.The true church must immediately divest itself of all profit-making schemes involving the Story. Be it for "preaching" or charging for christian music or books. These latter items can easily be distributed for free. So why put them behind a paywall and limit the audience? The plain answer is greed. Those outside the church figured this out long ago. Most of these saints are part of other churches but their home meetings are completely independent.I was surprised that their attention span greatly exceeds what I was used to. The meetings go on for 3-4 hours. I was also amused by the large quantities of food they enjoyed.Anyway, I sometimes wonder if fellowship meals such as this better represent the true meaning of what has become the modern "Lord's Supper". This is a real meal where hunger and thirst are truly relieved and the body strengthened. The Corinthian church had problems in this area but the solution set forth by the apostle was not to reduce their supper to a ceremonial micro-meal.In the same letter he wrote: Whether therefore you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it with God in mind.

Of how Jesus can mend not just our personal problems but also the problems which plague our society. After all, it was Jesus who said we were to be the light of the world and salt of this earth.Therefore let us lay any racial prejudice aside and kneel at the Cross with any others who will join us there. Then rise and demonstrate His love to all people.Also, the street preacher is a reminder of the ancient texts which speak of the early believers being the vessels of the truth and of preaching itself. Preaching was not confined then (or now) to a clerical cast.Taking the church to the people rather than expecting them to come to us.For me, he brought an old saying to my mind. It goes like this: "There is no happier Christian than the one who has yet to meet a theologian." In a sense, we are all theologians, true. We therefore can become too obsessed with new ideas while neglecting or forgetting to do what we already know is right and proven. Likewise, we can forget the wonderful simplicity of God's message of salvation.We found this dear brother in Greensboro. We enjoyed our conversation very much as well as hearing him sing. We were visiting an outdoor arts show there on a hot day. Not soon forgotten.

]]>Sat, 23 Apr 2022 20:13:21 GMTIf you are like me, you might have become weary of hearing the word 'racism' which has considerably evolved in it's meaning. Still, it is quite real. My hope is that Christians will reach across all barriers in Jesus' name and meet and pray together at his Cross. When it happens it is a beautiful thing. God smiles.This woman is reading a letter which she received after her father had passed away. He was expelled from his church after he joined a Ministerial Alliance which favored equal rights for all. As he should have. I recorded this clip at a family gathering a few weeks ago. I would love to hear success stories in this regard from those who do not meet in traditional settings. Of course, regardless of the setting, we will rejoice.

Almost every sentence ends with laughter. We sometimes think those of other cultures are unhappy compared to us in the West. This may be a false assumption.When I was in school it was explained that the Chinese were Communists and Atheists and were therefore... very unhappy. And that their cities were naturally dark and dreary. Well, if that were ever true, it is much less so today. Quite the contrary, in fact.OK, let's tie this in to the idea of alternative Christian churches. Parts of China are now very urbanized and the real estate is some of the most expensive on earth. When land is purchased it is in view of the area hundreds of feet above the ground. Because tall buildings are required to accommodate the living, working, and shopping needs of the teeming population, now over a billion. Church buildings are seldom more than a few stories high which makes them highly impractical and often unaffordable. The solution: Efficient house churches which meet in large rooms or large apartments - or even small ones.
