Innocent Christmas song left an unpleasant aftertaste.

In the meadow, we can build a snowman

We'll pretend that he is Parson Brown

He'll say, are you married?

We'll say, no man

But you can do the job when you're in town

Scripture makes no distinction as to whom may officiate at a marriage ceremony or even at the "Lord's Supper" or at a baptism.

When we accept that, in the church some Christians have higher moral authority or higher standing with the Almighty than others - this is called "priestcraft".  Paul, in contrast, stated the he was called to preach - not to baptize. 1 Corinthians 1:17

Sorry, there are not enough professionals to go around anymore. In fact, there never have been. In the West, thousands of churches close each year due to lack of funding for a full-time professional.

As my friend from China says: "Very bad, very mess, very tragedy..."  On the brighter side, this is a song which honors marriage. And family. I like that thought very much.

Brothers and sisters, let us overcome evil with good.
