The Simple Gospel

Hello Brethren,

My name is Lynda Ann and I so love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! He has carried me through 10 years of widowhood, teaching me with truth, guiding me with light, and pouring living water into my life daily.

It wasn't like that at first though...when I lost my husband he was only 53 and I thought my entire future was over because I had planned on spending it with my husband and best friend. We had even bought our retirement home in Florida when we were in our 40's, planning out our old age days in sunny Florida. We were occasional church goers, never really believed in the kind of organized religion that we see today, but did share our belief in Jesus and we read the bible together.

When he died, I thought I was broken for good. I missed him so desperately...and I was angry at God because I didn't understand how the love of my life could just be gone...I didn't understand why God would let this happen and I did blame God. I stopped going to church at all, my bible started gathering dust...and I made a lot of stupid decisions in my grief. Suddenly, just a couple years later, I found myself surrounded by people taking advantage of ...well everything I had. I'm sure this happens often to widows, and I cast no blame knowing that ultimately this was part of my journey and why I turned back to God in humility and even more grief as I had not been a good steward of what my husband had provided for me.

But, I'm telling you, God turned it all around for His Glory! When I opened up my heart to my Savior, He held me close and brought healing into my life. I learned how to walk and talk with Him. I learned how to trust Him in a way I had never trusted before...with everything. I moved to Cincinnati from Florida in 2021 and God has been transforming me daily through the power of the Holy Spirit and by the washing of the Word in my life. I realize now, that my husband was a beautiful gift in my life....but not my life, for my life is in Christ alone. It is only in Him that I live and move and have my being.

I just wanted to share that with my brothers and sisters here...that God is the God of the impossible and is more than capable of healing every wound in our heart. All I want to do is bring Him honor and glory as He continues to author every page of the rest of my life with the simple gospel. Jesus Saves - Amen.

    • Hello precious sister Lynda Ann. We welcome YOU today. You are truly a Guest of Honor in this regrettably male dominated venue. Haha.

Thank you for sharing the wonderful story of YOU and the Good Shepherd, your faithful Guide and Pursuer. It really made my day.

My passion to see men AND women unleashed for ministry (service) is never satisfied, you see.

Earlier this week I was considering how, in God's providence, that is was the 'lowly' women at the Tomb of Jesus who were dispatched to tell the others... Who could make up such a thing in the ancient world or even today?

I also, and most others among us, seem to have had a huge unexpected, unwanted life altering experience. But God was good and we came out of it years later with a deeper connection with HIM. And renewed vigor for the Kingdom.

How true it is: Man proposes - God disposes. Sometimes the Almighty One has other plans.

For many of us, He still saves the best wine for last, so to speak. That is remarkable because He owes us nothing. Thankfully He came not to condemn but to seek and save the lost.

And we KNOW that all things work together for GOOD to those who love God and are called... Romans 8.

      • Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, dear brother. This vigor for the kingdom is the calling, desire and purpose for all who have stepped into His marvelous lights! 1 Peter

        • Powerful testimony of how Jesus can carry us. Thank you for sharing.
