Jesus came and said to them: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:18-20
Hey friend, it's good to see you today. Thank you for stopping by.
Ours is truly an unprecedented time. A time when every means to spread the Good News about Jesus the Christ must be employed. Every legitimate form of communication and of church structure must be utilized in the times which remain.
Dark clouds are gathering. Things often seem to be going backwards - not forward - for the cause of righteousness and of peace. At the same time, there are now more inhabitants on our planet than in all previous ages combined. Something must change in the very near future.
The battle for the heart, mind, and soul of every person (and institution) on earth is truly underway. As surely as victory has been promised so participation by all is also required.
The concept of house church is not a new idea. It goes by several names. In some localities it has worked quite well. House churches are scriptural and have many advantages. But they are arguably not the only model seen in the Scriptures or earliest church history. It is also arguable they are the best and most efficient form of church in many scenarios.
Our goals here are several. First, that everyone will bow before God's Anointed One and receive the free gift of eternal salvation. Second, that new sustainable churches will be formed. And that in these communities those who belong to God will find fellowship and doors of ministry.
Regrettably, much of the alternative church material so far has sought to makes it's gains by an unrelenting assault on the institutional church. And upon legitimate church leadership as well. This is not the answer and therefore this approach has not worked, despite the lavish claims and catchy slogans.
Thankfully, the vast majority of Christians - even those in traditional churches - are open to alternative church structures. Our goal therefore is to lift up Christ in every possible context and neither become preoccupied with the institutional church nor with those who participate in it.
In reality there is but one true church. We are in it or out of it. All those in the true church are entitled to the love and respect of all the others.
The true church is called to a mission - not merely to "be the church." It is a living organism as well as an institution. One with the historical Jesus as the Head - a Head who has appointed earthly shepherds and simple structures. The Mission is to spread the Good News and to make disciples of all nations. And much more.
It is true that there are many wrongs in the church today. There always have been. And yes, we should examine all things, abandon false practices, and hold closely to that which is true.
It is our desire that this site will become a place where non-traditional church methods and structures can be encouraged, discussed, and lived out. Hopefully, many new simple churches will come into existence as God blesses, knowledge increases, and illegitimate traditions and Christ-less churches are left behind.
Brothers and sisters, the hour is late. Let us not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good. Let's pray for a revival so great that the present day structures cannot contain it.
