Last night I listened to two prominent Christians (David French, Allie Beth Stuckey) talk for one and a half hours about "toxic empathy". In the end, they both agreed that the State should do more. Well, what about the Church doing more?

Jesus knew all about disingenuous, self-serving "empathy" and spoke of the Lords of the Gentiles, desiring to be "benefactors"... But went on to command us not to be like them,

So yes, the world has no shortage of fake empathy and pretender politicians.

With no financial resources, all one can do is wave their sign in front of an abortion Clinic. Without money and physical assistance, one cannot offer these pitiful 'mothers to be' very much help or hope. In many cases, their decision to abort is a financial one.

I was reminded of these words from James 2:

And one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don't give them what the body needs, what good is it?

Christians, Church - what are your financial priorities?
