This is a super fascinating series, brother. The early Methodists were "movers and shakers". One of their leading lights was Francis Asbury, who traveled 270,000 miles on horseback! Preaching in barns and open fields, and the like. Not to mention writing many books.
Their "class meetings" command our attention. Sadly, today thousands of Methodists churches have left their denomination. I say sadly, but in reality they have moved on to something better.
To your bibliography, I would add The Radical Wesley : The Patterns and Practices of a Movement Maker, 1980 by Howard Snyder. I think @Dan Beaty met him. He is a pioneer of the alternative church movement. And a faithful one at that. This interesting book can be read here.
